I think we can say with all certainty right now that DIV Games Studio is well and truly fucked.

Quoting Mike Green:
DIV-Arena will be back. In one form or another. I dont mind pointing it here for now.

Quoting Mike Green:
Basically, Fasttrak has been sold. i'm currently snowed under with other projects and div isnt even on the radar

You people haven't been missing Mike's replies here on Booleansoup, now have you?

The site had become a joke anyway. Doesn't stop the program being great.

I do remember him tell me about stuff happening at fast trak but I didn't know it had actually been sold. And I've seen that first message about twenty times at least, no offence Mike ;)

I'm using Fenix until I can convince myself to get off my ass, and start using another language for real. Probably C++ with the popcap wrapper or something, or start to learn an API or someshit.

But DIV really was a great introduction to programming for me. It's practical, and relates to "real" languages like C++ quite well (object based, syntax, etc). It's a good language, capabilities are a bit low, but hell, it's better than learning BASIC.

Booleansoup is certainly a better site than DIV-Arena before it closed down, but I still find it a pitty that that DIV DX compiler never got released...

Indeed it is. :D :D

We have proved that the Div communities friendship is stronger than the financial profits of DIV games studio. We are pretty much all still together, and I think we should cherish that. :)

Maybe we should just go ahead and email everyone now. I mean, is it better to wait until some more modules are finished, or to invite everyone and then make them wait? I'm not sure. The forum largely works at least... and they can upload their games...

You could always explain the situation in the e-mail (The community practically moved here, but the site is still in development, although working)...

I think it's best not to wait to long, since people probably already have given up about DIV-Arena...

Yeah I'd say let's launch this mofo. The place is really quite kickass when you take a step back and look at it all.

Links page (nearly done as far as I know), resources gallery (graphics, sound, you know), remaking the articles thing, lots of bugs.

I'll do the mailing list module after a quick game on Stepmania. YES!

And I'm at the back of the maintrain. It's like a PEtar sandwich.

And yes, this place is pretty kickass, especially with Woodys orgasmic new style. That should SO be default. We've got the rocket, now we need the fuel.

Perhaps we could buy the rights to the old DIV-DX?

It's cost them money, and doesn't even look like being completed! They'd probably be happy to get rid of it!

Heh, Anjetika. So it's you, I thought you were a new guy. ;) Welcome to Booleansoup, good to have you aboard!

Buying the rights to div won't be of much use if none of us is going to finish it. And it will be very expensive.

The only ones that would benefit from buying DIV(without finishing it) would be the Fenix team, maybe. Then they could continue to freely use the old DIV syntax, which they've been forced to change by circumstances.

So for now better leave it with Mike and Seph and see if they're ever going to finish it.

Hi,
you know me as BB Software... we merged with some good friends to aTomIC Animatix Studio or AAS :).

I think it is great to see that many diver's are here. I hope, the boolean soup (crazy name) will be great like the good ole DIV Arena.
