DTM, you could always join the Fenix team. :D

And wooh what's just happened? E-mail from who PB? I really don't see why you haven't gotten into Fenix. You are waiting for something that has been realized by others, I don't see why you don't try to pick that up? If you really loved DIV or making games, then please use Fenix. It's more than DIV ever was, and DIV was great.

And Mike get your ass back here. :what:

The e-mail I got was from Jon Silvera. I mainly wanted DIV DX to compile the games I had made. Fenix seems unsuitable for that. I've tried a game once in Fenix though, but in the end I think it's better to learn proffesional languages now. With two (+ one who didn't really program with us) other students I've created a game in C++ for instance...

Deadmaster, if you start C++ be aware that it is not just another language. C++ is a whole new way of programming thinking. It uses Object Oriented concepts and in my experience I can tell you that your background on Fenix/DIV is not enough to understand all the basics of C++ programming, although you will understand faster with a background knowledge of Fenix/DIV instead of nothing. :)

I forgot to wish you Good Luck with your games programming carrière:

dm! GOOD LICK!!

*Luck.

Plus I already got my head around some basic stuff - functions are sort of like proceeses, pointers point to locations in the memory, etc. So I should be fine understanding the fundamentals... I'm quite persistant, as you might know ;)

My first C++ code used a basic program to convert from div->c++

Simply adding {} instead of end and stuff.
It sort of worked as it was a DLL not a stand alone program.

The most difficult thing is finding out what the error messages mean. like, linker errors.

It wasn't meant to be begging... I am genuinely interested in having it for the purpose I mentioned earlier in this topic. I know this probably won't happen. But I don't see why not. :)

To all this, Navarrese Daniel decided to give to the source code of DIV 2 to a group of DIVeros (Echosoft, people in charge of the FreeDIV movement) so that they followed it.
