Needs must. What free music creation programs are there? I seem to have lost Dance ejay  Also, any other free programs of use in the competition, post them! Post your workflow! So far I have: pixia - graphics audacity - sfx ____________ :o |

Music: MODplug Tracker Woody made his final fight song with this: the menu song of Turbulence, pretty damn nice. Vpiano Play piano (with all kind of crazy midi instruments) on your computer keyboard. Hmm, music is gonna be a problem for me too  Never ever tried to make my own game music... but hey who knows, I might be good at it

What do people prefer for game music? Mixing software (of the EJay etc variety) or notation/scoring software (such as sibelius, noteworthy and finale)?

Most recently I've been using a combination of the awesome mix program Acid music (by Sonic Foundry) and vpiano. So I record small samples done with vpiano, and then mix, combine and repeat them and all with Acid music. I've also been playing around with MODplug Tracker a bit because Woody made such a nice song with it, and hope to continue with that. @DTM: If you are entitled to a copy of Ejay but lost it, can't you download and burn it legally then? @Yonni: your links above are pointing to nothing! ____________ Personal website: http://www.loijson.com |

I went looking for free scoring software a while ago, lots of demos avaliable, and there are a few interpreters of MusicXML, but I didn't like the look of that, you may however.

If you are still in posession of an old computer, you can use QuickBasic for programming your music! I think I'll be going for mixing software as opposed to scoring software. ____________ I am Moogle and I approve this message. Wow moogle I thought the same. It also works on newer computers that still have a built-in speaker. Play "abcabcabc"  There is also an advanced command where you can chose duration and frequency - that produced nice sirenes for me in the past. And DTM, can't you use a p2p program?
