I hate it when I have "my documents" open and then I click it again and it just restores the window. I want two my documents open it's not fair.  Also I hate windows live messenger, I tried to uninstall it and it somehow manages to uninstall my sound drivers. So then I get "no sound hardware" attached messages. And I can't just leave it because it prevents the old messenger from starting automatically. and it installed a My Sharing Folders icon into My Computer which I don't like.  Despite all these hardships I must give some credit to realplayer and skype. They have both managed to find some firewall holes to get through, I didn't have to tell them or anything!!  It did take realplayer a few days though, I suppose it got through the ones I opened for Steam.

- make a map "my 2nd documents" ? - don't ever use "my documents" ? - trillian? Are you being sarcastic about the realplayer and skype or do you really find programs that override your security system automatically without you configuring it awesome? ____________ Kwakkel |

Shift + Double Click on "My Documents" to open another window.

hmm. both suggested methods require an extra click. Ecko's has a folders list/bar/frame/thing which has to be closed, costing one click. I can get into my documents in 6 keystrokes ([windows]+e > [tab] > [up] > [right] > [enter]), but I find [windows]+e > *click* easier. So if you don't want to reach for your mouse there is that. There's also [windows]+r (opens "run") and then type "my documents" and hit enter, but that takes longer than the above method. They both can open more than one window, also with the second method, it remembers the last command you typed in "run". I always use the run box for starting firefox ("firefox"), internet explorer ("iexplore"), notepad ("notepad"), calculator ("calc"), and all msoffice programs ("winword","excel","powerpnt" etc). I never use "my documents", I want to choose my partition, my maps, etc... that's why i suggested a 2nd my documents (i.e. "F:\myDocs"). whats more i want to see a complete path (with drive letter) in my address bar, I use it often to navigate... (a wrong habit maybe not to use windows explorer) I like Live messenger so I dont use trillian, but if one dislikes Live messenger I think trillian is the best alternative. (in terms of memory, it CAN be annoying to install such a heavy thing for only chatting...) ____________ Kwakkel |

No the "windows messenger" I had was great. No ads. The thing is I was happy before, now I am not, all because of live messenger. Trillian won't uninstall live messenger for me. It only shows when my mouse comes near. Damned handy.
