Someone (I'll say no names Rincewind) pointed out that the descriptions under the forums I wrote are a little too frivolous for a programming site. I'm pretty incapable of describing things without a healthy dose of absurdity, but I'm open to suggestions. Here, to be exact. :F

It depends on the type of user you are aiming for. If you're going to have a lot of non-native english speakers it may get confusing.

I think the current descriptions are funny, but don't really look serious so one might think this is just another bullshit forum with no time put in it (and users expect ofcourse serious reactions on questions). It also seems to make fun of the user, and I don't think users like that, like the 'whine about bugs here', 'Like *nix except even nerdier', 'Does anyone actually use this?' and 'shit'.

I think the topic description should clearify in what forum a topic should be posted.

Anyway, here my suggestions (existing ones I liked are still here):
-----------------------------------------------------------
News
All the news that's fit to spew.

Site feedback and ideas
Report any site bugs here, tell us what you think and suggest possible improvements.

Programming
Talk about everyones favorite pastime here.

Art and Graphics
Share experiences in creating sprites and game-art.

Sound and Music
Help eachother with creating sound and music here.

Screenshots and Trailers
Show off your upcoming games and see what others are up to.

Malarkey
Off-topic and lvoing it.

Fenix/DIV
Discuss Fenix and DIV game programming.

Various BASICs
Blitzbasic, Darkbasic, Visual Basic, Quickbasic, you name it.

C/C++
Discuss coding questions, graphic libraries, DLL creation etc.

Java
If you feel the urge of creating mobile- or web games.
-----------------------------------------------------------

I also changed some topic titles. It's possible I made some grammar mistakes somewhere.

I could always ask Captain Savvii to write them, in his usual eloquent and tolerant manner.
