Ok, after working on my tile code I am allowed multiple layer, great! But after a test with two layers (one being semi-transparent), the frame-rate slows down to about 16, which aint too good. Anyone know of any good optimisations I might be able to make (other than changing tilesize)? Processes running are: ---------------------- character - moves around screen + calls the function update_camera every frame scroll_me - makes sure character is in the right place 2x Render_tiles - makes the layer As you can see, this is a basic program, so consider how slow a full game would be!
