Working in a team sucks. I tried it twice. Failed. In my opinion, you can't just put some random programmers together and expect them to deliver a high quality product. I'm sorry but this is just what's called 'robot production'. You put a couple of people together, forced to make appointments and agreements on each other. I'm sorry but did the fucking guy who invented this forget the most important aspects of the human? Like I don't know, psychology? Maslow's hierarchy of needs? Trust comes before cooperation and partnership. If you don't know someone, you don't trust them! If you don't trust them, you can't work with them! Seriously. The only way that teamwork would deliver a great product is if each team member is the other team member's best friend or has known him/her for a long time and they get along well. Not if that person is a complete stranger whom you don't know what to expect of. Any opinions? ____________ |

In the consultancy world I often get to work with people I barely know. In my personal experience it works best if no one knows each other. If everyone knows each other except you you can be easily left out. Also a friend is not always a good team member you can work with.
