Hello!

It's time for another Thing.

This is a puzzle game, where you must push blocks to get to the exit portal / spinning doughnut. It's a work in progress. But is it worth continuing? I'm not sure, I don't find the whole puzzle-designing aspect all that fun. Hmm.

A screenshot...

There is now an ugly and slow software rendered version.

I've no idea what the actual problem could be.

That version 'runs', although some models aren't textured.

Making games for Eckolin's PC is a real challenge. Took me a great deal of time to make Sangine compatible in the old days. ;-)

Looks very awesome. How did you make it?

- I get stuck when I move onto the spheres that "blow" you up witht he character
- No animation when you happen to drop off (you can "walk" in the air) There is animation when you fall in the sea/ocean though.

Framerate greatly drops in the level with the 5x5 elevators.

Edit: OpenALSoundSystem error: No ALUT error found
This line makes up most of my 168kb log file.

Well, I used a programming language and also a compiler.

- that's supposed to happen. is it so bad? Maybe in the final version I will have it so it auto restarts after a few seconds of being stuck.
- hmm ok

That's all rather strange. Does sound work though? If you could upload the log to pastebin or somewhere that would be very helpful!

Oh wait is this error only occurring in the elevator level?
Maybe there are too many sound sources or something. Hmm.

So why published under "Garnet Games" and no longer under "Xzist Games"?

PS. How are the sales of your previous games?

It's good, but it lacks polish. It needs music, maybe a better charecter model, a HUD, particles/animated background etc, a decent menu. The bare bones of a really good shareware title are here though :D

Oh and also the camera needs to tilt down to look at the player charecter when he dies, like really really needs to XD

XZIST is somewhat hard/unobvious to remember/spell. Why Garnet? It alliterates with Games and wasn't taken.

I think I sold one copy of Run Rabbit didn't I? :D

*cries*

...but you're certainly not the first person to say that :-)

I really can't be bothered with much improvements at the moment though. I'll see how it does in its current state.

Keep it hanging around, the bare bones of a solid game are there like I said, not much if anything needs changing gameplay wise :P

Do what I did with Blambastic II - shelve it if you're bored of it then come back to it later. Just the other day managed to get it recompiled and working with Bennu so it's not dead yet :)

$20 is quite a price. A game on xbox live arcade (somewhat the same quality) costs only $10 (800 microsoft points)

QUESTION:

What is required in a menu? (and the proverbial polish) Is it just enough to have some start screen with options Play, New Game, Exit... Or do I need separate player profile nonsense? Configurable controls? (who really uses that? bearing in mind the control scheme for this game is very basic). Level select!?

--> Camera tilts down now!

> $20 is quite a price. A game on xbox live arcade (somewhat the same quality) costs only $10 (800 microsoft points)
Well, I'll experiment with the price certainly. But reducing price to $10 must double sales. Although that maths is meaningless with zero sales of course :what:

Certainly I'll put it down to $10 and see if sales increase from zero.
