Game engine about finished. Hello 2010!

I am only able to recode Hero thanks to keeping all the source on an old CD-Rom since 2002!

With a full set of game sprites I began recoding the Level Editors and main game. Yeah it's a little late to be doing this, but I loved the game originally.

So eight years on I have most of the game engine in place and designed some test levels. The simple Editor is based on the game engine and the interface is nothing much at all.

The game itself is quite reminiscent of "Wonder Boy 3: The Dragon's Trap" on the Sega Master System, one of my all time favourites. You are a knight armed with sword and shield, and must journey the land disposing of enemies and solve certain simple platformer style puzzles that hinder your progress (for instance, find the key type puzzles).

For how far I've got recently, things are looking good with the test levels, no really bad bugs, and the two enemies types I've incorporated look and work fine.

I'll post a few screens here next blog entry.
