The people you may remember from Fasttrak (Jon Silvera and Mike Green) and a few other people have launched FUZE4 Nintendo Switch.

I recently found out and I thought that deserved a mention on this forum, since this community practically was born from the DIV-arena community from Fasttrak

You can check their site out at: https://fuzearena.com/

EDIT: forgot to mention, FUZE4 is a similar idea as DIV Games Studio, but for the Nintendo Switch console. In some ways it's more limited (it's not on PC, you program on the console) and there are still a few bugs in there, but I think they include their community well with the improvements that are going on.

It's good to keep in mind that the mission is to get kids to start coding, not to create an environment to create professional games. So it's just to have a little fun with writing and running some of your own code on the Switch without needing to hack the device.

Great but something is wrong with the site when I first registered. I hope they got my request.

I want to make a news page exchange with FUZEARENA.

I noticed that some people at my programming daycare place have a Nintendo Switch. I am happy with how it was designed. It is a solid straight design, with the focus on a large screen, good hardware, and straight positioning of the keys. That is quite a leave from the Nintendo DS series, which has a creative design with the dual screens and large size. Apparently some people like those creative designs from Nintendo, also thinking back about the Wii.

The Fuze software might not be for me however. I would primarily use a Nintendo Switch for actual gaming. If I would want to program for a handheld I would get a Pandora / DragonBox, because Ultimate Fenix or Bennu might be out on them. For now I will not be getting any of them, but maybe later.

I wonder if they show about the need for independent licensing using FUZE.

Anyone wanting to truly develop and publish for Nintendo Switch will need to deploy to their unit which is only possible(?) with a official license from Nintendo.

After using FUZE for a few months now, I'd like to post an update to this:
I've created two games: 2048 and Solitaire.

It's fairly easy to create simple results quickly with this (both in 2D and 3D) and they do put in a lot of effort to build their community. And they do work on updates to improve the top priority weaknesses in the language.

But in general there are ways to work around the issues with a little experience.

If you liked DIV and have a Switch, you should probably just check this out and have fun with it.
