Greetings from Brazil!

I'm quite used to work with Blitz Basic (that's quite obsolete by now) and I have a task to create a simple 2D game. So since I have no time to learn a new language, I was wondering if there's any good free BASIC compiler with the following features:

1) Able to create 2D games with fast image blitting, handling time and sound FX;

2) That can accept many resolutions and also resample images to allow my game to run in any of them.

Thanks in advance for your recommendations!

I do not know of any free compiler, but you could pay for the successor to Blitz Basic called Blitz Max which might be good and reasonably modern. Also there is AppGameKit, which is a pay product too however.

I would really step off using "BASIC" and use the free "Bennu GD" instead.
