So when I was looking at the Blitz Basic forums a couple of hours ago I stumbled up on this thread, in which Tower Defence is showed to the public. I downloaded the game and all I can say is: :praise:. This kind of quality games is what game programming should result in! The game looks good, it's a simple though fun concept (made by 2 persons) and isn't too easy or hard to play. It kept me going for an hour. Woah. A blitz game that looks nice and professional. Can't play at the moment, I shall come back and play it later, but... I've never seen something as good looking as that done in Blitz before...

That game nearly exploderised my pc's monitor and is pending aggressive removal. Unless I feel lucky. ____________ Maker of Games... Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom. Need help with coding? I probably wrote something similar. |

Quote: Woah. A blitz game that looks nice and professional. You sound as if that is impossible. I think that blitz3D is a nice "facade" for low level programming on first sight. I tried the demo and I was quite impressed with the demos I watched. (couldn't be bothered to adapt the code unless for changing some variable values). Well, I agree that if you don't like "Basic syntax", you will not like this tool either... but does it matter? The language is just the layer of everything. The point is what you create: "games"! if it is nice it is nice.Remember: "for the love of making games", the tool doesn't matter. A booleansoup term! the game looks very nice. I wonder how they created their graphics ... one prob: "damn the WASD!" On my keyboard WASD is pressed like "ZQSD" on an international keyboard. (we use french keyboards for some bizarre reason). imagine playing a game: Z = forward, Q = to the left, S = backwards and D = to the right... Indeed: I DID went nuts. I noticed in Fenix for example, the key_codes are qwerty but the "ascii" variable gets it from an input buffer in your system or something, they will always mach your keyboard, even if it is a japanese one. Anyway, a game should let you decide your own keys. because some people just hate standard WASD... (here I gladly refer to PEader's HCI topic) ____________ |
