Some new thingy I've been working on.

Game style: Turn based strategy

The mountains look like shit - literally - and the gray things over the water are supposed to be bridges, but heck, it's just a prototype.

I wonder how far I'll get this time. I don't think I've ever gotten further than this since the last 10 years.

Something nice is that my code is much more readable than it used to be, so I think I might get further this time. :)

I worked on a GUI thingy with submenu:

You can switch layers for objects on the tilemap. This can be expanded easily.

So tell me what you think of me with my tile editor yet again. :what:

Regards.

PS: this is bennu

Looking good so far. Hopefully you'll finish it as a game this time!

Thanks. It's just because I have holidays that I have more time. Well, that's to say I've spent some time in the hospital and I must do something while I recover.

I had a malignant tumor. Yes, cancer. There's 85% chance all cells are fully eliminated now, so that's a good thing. :)

Many many checkups the following 6 months though. Then less frequent for the next 5 years.

Oh well, as long as I feel healthy I'll seize every day as a gift.

Did some changes:

- I changed the bridge graphic and added some new ones.
- Fixed some bugs
- Added constraints on tiles (i.e. you cannot place a mountain in the sea)
- You can now save your data to a file

Todo:

- Adding some more tiles
- loading files
- saving to a specific filename instead of "level_"+itoa(time())+".lvl"
- Managing different sizes of the level dynamically, by creating a new map

Then it's done and I can actually start the game itself. From the latest picture you can probably guess what it's going to be.

The latest picture does not work, it shows as a red cross.

It looks good. Is it going to be some kind of sim city?

At first the latest image didn't work for me, but then I clicked "afbeelding weergeven" (view image) in the context menu, and it appeared. (not telling you which browser I use)

Anyway, keep up the good spirit! Don't let that pesky tumor ruin your day, let it's days be ruined!

Thanks.

I can maybe still hotlink it here

PS: it's not sim city, but it will be easier to guess if I get further.

Not much, I've been too busy with work and all now I started working in Brussels. :)

Maybe, if I take off a week or more, I can focus on the game again.

I don't think I'll pick up before summer though.

I still have the code and it is quite transparant, so I won't have much trouble picking up again.
