Kensuo Port (Tovi's Worklog)
Lava
I was getting bored with trying to make Kensuo work as it did before, so I went on and added new features I've always wanted, but didn't have the time for.
Animated tiles! Hoorah!
I had to modify the engine to make sure all levels remained backwards compatible, but that new levels with animated tiles would work too. Thank god I still remembered how I programmed the whole thing, or this would have been really complicated.
So now I have melting lava. I'd post a screenshot, but it wouldn't really show the animation, so there's no point.
And now to get back to conversationboxes...

You can get movie capturing programs.
And then post it as a gif.
Or, make a little program showcasing this one effect and give it to us.

I only saw a screenshot of Kensuo and never played it, because it was made when I had already switched to Fenix and Windows XP.

I could capture and animate it, but I'm afraid you'd be dissapointed. To make the lava tiles, I made a lava tile, and then I animated it by scrolling it down. So if I posted an animation, it would just be of a scrolling lava tile. It wouldn't look great.
The only thing I'm happy about is that I managed to modify the engine to support animated tiles, that's all. But animated tiles themself are pretty annoying, since you have to draw several frames per tile.
In any case, it has always been my intention to have lava in some levels.
