Is it me or is there extremely little development for J2ME?
I know you can't do much in this language, but it can be fun to develop apps for your phone (Yes, I know most of you have flashy iPhones and Android systems, but I don't. I just have a crappy, Symbian-like phone that runs J2ME and is out of the market now).

I can imagine that todays developers would indeed focus on the iOS, Windows Phone 7 and Android platforms. When I still was in school I did make some J2ME application though... Technology still moves fast I guess...

it's typical how things just have to go on. Things are "in" and then suddenly they are "out". Anyway, it's still fun to develop for them despite you'll have to look everything up yourself... O.O

Wasn't antzrhere developing something in 3D for the gameboy color? But that's just research to high performance with little resources. Nice when you like assembler and intensive programming, but not useful to make GAMES really. Then I'd focus on packs like bennu pack or unity3D (with which you can develop for iphone & android)

I'll still try J2ME though. Nothing more fun than having the power of application choice in your fingers. Hey, I want a unit converter in Java! Oh no! There isn't one! No problem, I'll program it! Etc.
