Demo with scroll (help with the jump)
Demo with scroll (help with the jump)
I have the pleasure to present you to Saris. It's the name of the main character.
This demo have a first test of scroll (not the final graphics )
But there is a problem, I don't like the jump animation
You can test it and change the jump mode with keys indicated.
At first, I wanted an animation to jump but this appears like the impulse is in the air. The second alternative is only a static graphic that appears jumping and not very bad, but I dont like it either

I don't want to ruin your party, but the jump change keys are not A/Z on my keyboard, but Z/X.
You should make a combination of those two jump modes. When the ninja goes in the air, use the first mode. When it reaches it's highest point, and comes down, change the animation to the second jump mode. It think that way, it will look more realistic.

Thx, good idea! And I can change the animation but keeping the position to avoid the impulse in the air
And yes, the correct keys are Z & X,
xD

I love the first animation! It would be cool if he could go from that into a roll on landing.

I like the arms-up-in-the-air-position - he's going to kick someone in the face out of that position, ninja style. It would be cool if you could indeed hit a fight key to make the ninja stick his feet forward (and keep his arms up in the air).

I kindof agree with Gobliz. People tend to bend their knees when they land. Your animation lands with its legs straight.

Everythig you said are good ideas, kick in the jump, roll when landing... But I have a very big problem: this was created by a sprite generator, and I'm not free to make new animations.
I think the best way is to return to the 3D modeling. I'm going to try a new ninja design and every animations you said here. I hope he will look better.
Ariel, you guessed the 3D efect on the sprite. Before, he was a plain sprite with pixel borders and really bad, but with this was better, but not enough.
Thaks for your comments.
(new Saris coming soon)
