Here is a sketch of a robot I finalised into a piece of concept art, to be modelled in 3d. Robot fighter It will be main character in a game project I hope to write in C++ with Horde 3d - if Sandman really wants to help with the tough coding part - otherwise I will take some other route. I won't explain the game just yet, apart from it will be a 3rd person Armoured Core type shooter. I was thinking of taking this approach to 3d modelling and then animating: * Build parts in Wings3d * Figure out which parts are limbs and how * Import in Truespace and affix limbs * Make animation sequences for the game Now does this sound ok? Which path do most game designers take from 3d modelling a character, then animating? Any suggestions on this are welcome. [Edited on December 23, 2009 by Mezzmer] ____________ |

Get a motion-capture suit and hop around like a bunny trying to escape being the Christmas dinner. On a serious note though: I think most big game studios still do it that way, but otherwise I wouldn't know. Still a happy new year to you even though this post wasn't useful. ____________ Fuck a duck |
