Hi, i'm trying to upload my new Action Tank Special Edition but the site gives an error saying that the filesize is too big. However, its only 5.8 MB. Any help would be appreciated!

Hey Xenthar, that's pretty strange. I just checked the .htaccess file, and the limit is still set at 20MB.

Edit: I just tried to upload a zip archive of 5.6 mb (your old version), and I got the same message. It's probably a leftover of the server move, I hope .htaccess files still work at all. It seems the upload limit is back at the default of 2 MB, as I did manage to upload a 825 kb file successfully while a file of 2.15 mb failed as well.

Edit 2: AllowOverride is probably not set to All.

Edit 3:: Unrelated, but it seems .php = php4 and .php5 is php5, while we choose for .php to be php5. Blah. :(

Just so you guys know - I mailed our host Mike and am now waiting for a (second) reply. Apparantly .htaccess files still work fine, but php flags are disabled. He told me he can change settings per account, but only if he deems the change worthy. Or something.

Worthy? It's integral to the site and it's built with that setting in mind, we've been relying on it's usage and all of a sudden it's been ripped away.

I think it's worthy enough.

Okay, a week passed and our host didn't reply yet. For a temporary solution to get your game uploaded, could you please do the following:

Upload a dummy zipfile < 2 MB, but fill out the description page and everything as if it were your game. Then if you could send me your game through another way (e-mail, or provide me with a link), then I'll replace the dummy file with the real file. Make sure the dummy has the same name as the real file. :)

I haven't seen your mail come by.
The only e-mail I've got was dated 04/07/07, and I replied today.

However, I spoke with Jan-Willem and we decided to change the max_uploadsize to 64MB.
Must be enough for now!

Edit: due our security policy it's not possible anymore to change the PHP-values through the .htaccess-file.
We now need to build a custom php.ini for every customer who has specific needs.

Regards,

Mike

It's 20M now. Uploading works again without problems, so everyone upload your stuff already. And thanks Mike.

What was the max post size upped to? There are two values in PHP that define the size of uploads.

They both should be at 20M, like they were before in the .htaccess file. But yeah I see that p-id didn't mention post_max_size in his post above, however he mailed me both were changed as asked for.
