I mentioned this in my worklog before but no one reacted. Some of my tiles are actually googled photographs that I resized and adapted. This is not exactly made from scratch, but.... you see, what if I take this photographs myself and I resize them to tiles, I think this should be allowed, since I made them from scratch. If anyone remembers bert the barbarian. he took photographs too for his sprites, which he made from clay.

well i dont want to be the harbringer of bad news, but that doesnt sound 'made from scratch' to me.. unless you took the photos yourself =/ i dunno maybe its ok, see what rince posts.

What you are using now (googled photographs), is obviously not made from scratch. But you already figured that out yourself (<Dennis> "This is not exactly made from scratch"). You are using the material of others. So it's not allowed. Obviously the guy that made Bert the Barbarian first made clay puppets himself and then photopgraphed them himself. I'm not exactly sure what your question is Dennis (could you clarify ?), but no you cannot adapt googled photographs and use them, but yes you could take original photographs with a camera yourself and use them. If I can be totally honest then I must say that I think your game will be much much prettier if you would draw/model the graphics instead of using photos at all. I once went outside myself (omg) and photographed grass, earth, street tiles etc, and made tiles of them. If Dennis takes the photograph, who else has created that graphic? The builder that constructed the roof? The camera? Photoshop when he imports the picture?
