Quoting Rincewind:
I'm half way building up stamina to do more things on a day. When I was still in high school I had alot of it, but I haven't been able to reach a high level since. I'm slowly getting grounds. I now can do things on a day from 10:10 AM until 11:45 PM.

When my Work Time Advisor project is ready, I can just follow the program's day scheme directions!

:o I hope not lower stamina due to covid-19?

if so, I HOPE NOT THE BRITISH VARIANT OMG LULZ, it comes with free tea and milk.

It has nothing to do with that, Dennis. Basically it's about how many activities you do on a day. Push yourself to another activity at the end of your day and you get more available time because of it, the next day. It's a trick! :aharr:

I hope the vaccines will work well against the current variants, so I can finally stop working from home fulltime. I've been working from home since March, barely seeing anyone since then :/

I'll probably keep working from home regularly after this, but full time is just a bit much...

I see, I usually do the opposite. :P

The first question I ask myself is: "Will the world end if I do it tomorrow instead?" and the answer is almost always "no". :eyeroll:

When Trump said "Chinese virus" the world was in shock.
I am sensing a double standard here.

lmao that video is hilarious!
I just love British humoUr.

I hope it is not serious, but it probably isn't because it's typical dry wit humour.

Love it.

Yeah I don't really doubt if it's serious either :P

I didn't actually pull this one from Reddit, but that's usually where I find fresh fun stuff if I'm looking for that :)

One of those posts is a lie, because they can't both be the 600th. One of them is the 601st or the 599th :)

I met a Dutch person today and his last name was Dekwaadsteniet. I kid you not, it literally means "Not the worst". Imagine, what's your name "John", last name "Not the worst". As a cop I would cuff him for mockery.

Bet people are constantly bullied with this in Holland.

His whole life must be an inverse dad joke.

A typical dad joke would be:
a: "Hi, I'm Back"
b: "Hi back!"

In his case:
a: "Ik ben Dekwaadsteniet"
b: ...

The person paying for the hosting is probably still somewhere. :P

I visisted the chatroom from time to time, but got little to no response there either.

We did speak a little back in IRC! I am often in #bilge. Also there is someone new in there called Tivia, who is a hospital nurse (she's somehow in our channel).

I never really check IRC, sorry.

I do sometimes check the forum, but if a post has meaningful content and I have nothing useful to respond, then I usually don't reply...

I've been using GameMaker 2 a while back. You can say what you want about it, but it's the closest thing that resembles DIV Games Studio at the moment.

However: It is hard to find a decent tutorial. Most of the tutorials start with stuff like "LETS EXPLAIN WHAT AN IF STATEMENT IS" and 99% of the content is for people who have never programmed a line of code in their lives. This is very cumbersome.

Most of the time you're just copying code and it isn't properly explained what it does.

Also I prefer written tutorials (books?) over videos, but nowadays everything needs to be a video, filled with crap such as sponsors and what not... Well, but then it's free of course. Oh well.

Did you check out Fuze? I've not checked out GameMaker 2, but still I expect Fuze to be closer to DIV Games Studio than GameMaker :P

Hooray. It is the new year. What are you people up to?

I am doing the ECDL course (European Computer Driver License) at programming daycare. This is to get certificates to get work after I'm done. For me it consists of: MS Outlook for administration, MS Excel, MS Word. All of them are the modern MS Office 365/2019 version. I need to learn each application completely inside out. Then the plan is to become a computer administrative worker.

Good luck with that!

I'm also working on updating my developer certifications, but at a slow pace, because I also need to focus my mind learning the things that actually matter to paying customers (which does not align at all with the certifications).

Yes, updating certifications would be important for me too later. I know offices sometimes use other versions of Java or MS office software, other than what I learned. I can only get it right when I know what higher version will be used.

Daycare didn't think my high school "informatics" class (MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint) was good anymore, since we're 22 years further... :(

I've been playing the game Star Wars: The force unleashed (for sale on steam). It is really an excellent game. I got the Ultimate Sith edition. It has beautiful use of shaders, and runs just fine on my PC. It works well with the keyboard and mouse, but you can also use an XBOX controller for the PC. My PC by the way is a 3.5 Ghz AMD processor + Nvidia Geforce 1050 GTX. I already own the normal edition of the game for my XBOX 360, but it is more fun on the PC now.

An if you played it already, there is also a version 2 out.

I'm still learning MS Outlook inside out at my programming daycare. I'm at chapter 9 out of 10! Programming is easier really. :F

Does it run to advanced frame rates? Like 120, 144 fps?

I bought a 144Hz monitor which was the shizz 5 years ago. Pretty f'ing pricey as well! Nowadays you'd probably go for something like that but it really enhances the feel of a game - all new games are basically breaking 60 fps.

You have a better PC than I Rincewind. Though your gfx card is a bit of a let down. I have a 1060 GTX in an i5 system, which is "fair enough" but I doubt I can run the latest WOWzer games. Especially if I want some frame rate well over 60fps.
