Flash is old, don't you think it's smarter to learn HTML5/JavaScript better to make browser games? I think the internet is heading that way anyway...

Hm. Don't know. Also, there's a huge userbase that doesn't use newer browsers. I've been to an Adobe User Group meeting and they said Flash is going take over the gaming world and the general audience. If anything it's not going to end. I will wait for W3C on HTML5 decisions. I know some JS, but a lot of people block JS. Who blocks flash? No one, because they need it for Youtube.

At this point, flash games might still be bigger than html/javascript games, but my *guess* is that sites like youtube will switch to html5 as standard when the larger part of the audience has a browser that supports it.

Also I thought that Windows 8 will have more JavaScript based application-like things...

But surely, if you like it more to make games in flash, go for it! :-)

I think that Windows 8 is ambitious and much of the prominent UI is designed touch-screen-first. Meaning that it's more suitable for touchscreen than mouse.

I think Microsoft is being progressive, daring to renew and invent. On the other hand, I think this will result in that Windows 8 might not be as mature. Many new mistakes are being made and they will definately need to iron them out in Windows 9.

This is good, because it means that in 10 years, we will not have the same way of computing that we have leaned to accept as normal. In stead we all have a 3D "touch" screen and a computer that will respond to your emotions.

An an IT conference, a programmer keynote speaker said that his 3 year old daughter tried to touch the screen of his laptop and was astounded as the laptop did not respond. She is too much used to daddy's iPad2. LoL! We have to remember that we will be designing for our future younger generation.. that will be accustomed to new hypes and trends. We will be the old ones.. LoL.

Windows 8 is an update of Windows 7, but they call it 8 so they can earn big $$$ from it again.

Dennis: It's like the Call of Duty series. I have:

- Call of Duty IV
- Call of Duty V: World At War
- Call of Duty: Black Ops
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III

I can tell you that all of them are only slightly different. The weapons are nearly identical/reused, the graphics just a tad better each time and the game play is the same fucking gameplay in all games. They cannot innovate, I tell you.
All of their games play the. A shooter with very similar weapons, produced four times. What the fuck?

A waste of money if you ask me.

Just because my cousin kept telling me to buy these games, I bought them. Congratulations to me. Now I wasted over 150 euros. LoL!

The thing is, if you have Windows 7, you feel limited when you move to Windows XP. Windows 98 feels old if you're used to windows XP. Etc.

So you can stick with what you're used to, you don't need better. You might not even feel that mutch better when you move to the next release. But somehow you wouln't want to switch back once you're used to the new...

I mean XP is still a good operating system, even though we have Windows 7. It is fair to say you do not need Windows 7 in some cases, but it's not fair to say that Windows 7 is more of the same.

It's just how the economy works. At some point people buy a new TV with HD and stuff, then they do not want to switch back, but they didn't mis it when they didn't have it.

it's like wealth. if you get a raise, you start living towards it: you buy a (bigger) house, you buy more expensive things, but in the overall, you do not see much difference, but if you somehow lose that raise, you fall into poverty because you cannot let go of the new fancy stuff you got used to.
