(edit: oh shit sorry about the typo in the topic) okay, if this thread is not deleted (!) does anyone want a compo using either AVS or Milkdrop? (standard Winamp visualisation tools) i have really been wanting to get to grips with both of these, so the idea is to: create a visualisation (can be modified from a preset) OR make the best fullscreen snap? i dunno, just an idea for the "Sound and Music" section *Squarepusher pats himself on the back [Edited on October 12, 2005 by Mezzmer] ____________ |

no not a VISUALISER a VISUALISATION some of the presets for Winamp are quite awful but it's possible to create some really great ones with a little time and effort i never really took the time to do anything really interesting but i play around with Milkdrop from time to time  this is just a preset i was messing with, just a random effect nothing great obviously no-one is really interested so scratch this thread [Edited on October 22, 2005 by Mezzmer] ____________ |

i tend to go into Winamp>Milkdrop and press 'M' on the keyboard it's all quite comprehensive from there, with a little practice you can design an interesting visualisation all visualisations are based on the simple waveform from whichever track you are playing. you can add variations on the basic waveform and process it in different ways. that's the basics. really complicated and "pretty" effects come from input and output processing and other things i don't quite understand yet. but you don't have to understand it to have a play around with a bunch of settings! ____________ |
