I just noticed DTM managed to register http://www.div-arena.co.uk/ and pointed it here with a little explanation, nice job there!

And on topic: did Mike run off or did anyone get his games back?

Haven't heard from him.

I was waiting for div-arena.com to expire but it was extended. Darn

Hahaha. I don't mind if he isn't sending everyone the games, but if that's the case he shouldn't have opened this topic.

We owe DTM our monies!

Didn't receive my requested game though.

But Casper Van Beuzekom promised me to send me the whole div-doom source to me since I lost it a while ago.

indeed :D not something I am proud of, I kinda got to know forums and internet discussion on div-arena and probably came off as a retard, and uploaded only really terrible stuff at first.

The same goes for a lot of people on here, including myself, it's the difference between an enthusiastic kid aged 12 and a programmer of age 20. Not something to be ashamed of - it means you've improved, as long as there is a clear difference between then and now. ;-)

Are you by any chance still working on your Fenix IDE? It was coming along nicely the last time I heard of it.

uh I got too enthusiastic about the test game project I was making in the IDE, which ended up being too slow.
Yeah, I guess I should refocus on the IDE itself :P I still have the files sitting on my desktop.

It is still the most promising Fenix IDE in development I know of (some others have come along, some Linux IDEs, and this one) - you are pretty far already, it is worth finishing surely.

I am quoting rincewind but it gives me a 404 error so I can't.

There is a clear difference between then and now for me. Unfortunately in the wrong direction.

I don't know about his IDE, but I know that htbaa was making a tile editor. I wonder how it is progressing lately!

Check my worklogs!

Lol the tile editor wasn't special. The DIV tile editor that was released by the guy from divworkshop.com was the best one out there. I just used fancy tiles :-)

Wow, awesome. I was surfing about the internet and was feeling a little nostalgic about my early programming days. I remembered fenix from when I tried it a long time back and found this!

I used to be on the div-arena forum (before it suddenly had the rug pulled out from under it), even uploaded a few games, and now I find that there might be a backup of it all!?

I haven't read ALL the posts in this thread, so is Mike still distributing the old uploads or not?

I recognise a few names round here, maybe I'll have to give this fenix thing another go. Amazing what you find on the interweb.

Where's Mike?

Oh and hi all, some might remember me some might not ^_^. It's alright because I recognize a few names around here :P. I even posted a DarkBASIC WIP here that I never finished :( ... but oh well.

If Mike's still reading this I'd like my copies of the 3D Tank Demo, TileMap Editor and my ModeA TileMap Editor. Those are the ones I made that I can recall :/.

Damn, I'd love to play that strategy game with the cool music that the buildings were built like Total Annihilation (wireframe -> fill with green -> done!) and it was so fucking addicting.

That racing game that Woody made (I think?) too.... it was pure awesomeness.

I'm feeling nostalgic :'(.

Anyways, I'm not in Fenix or DIV or anything anymore, but I'd like my codeeeeeeez and gamez! :(. I'm actually working on a 2D/3D multiplatform engine with a small team, but that's another story.

The torrent seems like a good idea, I'd love to let the outside world see my old codez, hell, I made those when I was 11-14, and they were fucking great :/...

Or well, somebody mirror the site or something! the username/password & get the games idea that Mike said is a great one too, but then again if he dissapears like this...

I'd say let's upload the old games we downloaded someday from div-arena somewhere here and let others recover it, if Mike's not going to move his bum for us... :(
